Fed: GST to increase cost of park admissions
CANBERRA, Feb 9 AAP - Entry fees to national parks are set to rise under the GST.
Park admission and parking fees would probably rise under the new tax, federal environment
officers told a Senate inquiry today.
Labor questioned the federal government on the impact of the GST on environmental products
and services during a Senate estimates hearing, demanding it clarify the impact on ordinary
Australians.
But bureaucrats facing the hearing were unable to announce exactly what would attract
the tax, and what would be GST-free.
